Sun shines on B-Tech’s annual Golf Invitational

18 Jul 17

Hosted at Collingtree Park Golf Club, B-Tech’s third annual golf day welcomed 45 golfers from a range of B-Tech’s industry partners including Midwich, Sahara, TVC, Sonitech, DB Systems, CDEC, SCS, Alltrade, Visucomm, Samsung and LG. There were scores to settle from past events and excitement was in the air!

Proceedings got underway with team groupings, light refreshments, then straight to the driving range to warm up. After a little putting practice, the action began at 10.30am with 18 holes of golf, some friendly competition and a little driving ambition (especially in the carting navigation!). The clouds built up, but the day stayed warm and dry with the sun breaking through in time for drinks. Completing the golf at 4.30pm, golfers retired to the 19th hole for ice cold beverages in the afternoon sun and were entertained by Magic Circle magician Will Gray - performing incredible sleight-of-hand card tricks which drew gasps, laughter and applause.

Following some great networking and conversation, the late afternoon saw our partners take time to relax and enjoy a three-course meal overlooking the lake on the 18th hole, followed by after dinner presentations from B-Tech’s Mark Walker and Matt Nixon and the opportunity to view some of our latest product developments.

In front of a large purpose-built demo wall, Mark Walker gave an update about the latest product and company news; including announcing B-Tech’s shortlisting in the Manufacturer of the Year category at this year’s AV Awards. Many other nominees were also present, so of course congratulations were extended to the room, including those up for the same award.

Day organiser Matt Nixon ran a golf themed quiz before thanking everyone for attending and finally presenting the day’s winners with their awards. The event officially ended after the awards presentation, wrapping up a great day and a highly successful 2017 B-Tech Golf Invitational.
